Peter J. Hoffman, Esquire
- Attorney Hoffman is a respected Philadelphia trial attorney for the past 50 years.
- Mr. Hoffman’s trial practice focused on complex cases, such as commercial litigation, legal malpractice, antitrust, securities, class action, intellectual property, construction, products liability, toxic torts, and insurance coverage. In addition, a significant portion of his practice concentrated on medical malpractice cases.
- Since Covid, he has served the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas in a number of capacities to help alleviate the backlog of medical malpractice cases. This has included triage of cases to determine available court resources and disposition, conducting One Year Status Conferences, serving on the Medical Malpractice Working Group, conducting Settlement Conferences, Mediations, JPT Conferences, and serving as a Settlement and/or Discovery Master. As a consequence, he is familiar with liability and damage issues in terms of a neutral evaluation.
- Peter arbitrates and mediates complex civil cases, including medical malpractice, insurance coverage, product liability, legal malpractice, and child abuse, insurance bad faith, construction accidents, toxic torts, commercial litigation and motor vehicle accidents including uninsured and underinsured motorist.
- He contributes to the Pennsylvania General Assembly with respect to legislation regarding medical malpractice, including punitive damages, collateral source rule, and expert qualifications
